Frequently asked questions

How long will my build take?
Once the building permit is approved and construction begins, the home build typically takes 5-6 months. The design phase - including architectural plans, engineering and civil engineering - generally requires 3-5 months, depending on the scope of the project. Permit timelines vary by local jurisdiction and can fluctuate throughout the year.
Who will be my main point of contact?
You will work directly with the owners throughout every stage of the process, ensuring your vision is carried seamlessly from concept to completion while minimizing miscommunication. As a hands-on brother-and-sister team, they remain closely involved at every step - from planning and site work to home design and construction.
HOW DO YOU MANAGE SUBCONTRACTORS AND QUALITY?
Do you handle permits and utilities?
Yes, we are happy to start at any stage of your project and offer permit only contracts to help keep your project moving before you decide on a builder. Our feasibility sheet offers additional site information as well as local contacts if needed as well.
How do you communicate progress updates?
We believe clear communication is essential to a successful project. From the beginning, we hold regular design meetings to review progress, discuss next steps, and ensure everyone remains aligned throughout the process. In addition, we provide weekly updates so you are always informed about what's happening with your home. We also conduct frequent site visits to maintain our high standards of quality and ensure the build stays true to your vision. This includes on-site meetings with you to review rough-in layouts and key design details that are now always fully captured in plans.
Many of our subcontractors have partnered with us for over 30 years and are truly an extensions of our team. While we routinely bid additional contractors to ensure our pricing remains competitive, the long standing relationships we maintain with our subs are what consistently deliver the high level of craftsmanship our homes are known for, while also keeping schedules and process running smoothly for everyone.
DO YOU PROVIDE PLANS OR WORK WITH ARCHITECTS?
While we do not have an in house plans we work closely with local architects to design a plan that checks all your boxes. Our design team will ask about your style, budget, and needs to design a home that's perfect for you. If you already have a plan, that's great too, we are happy to build from your home plans.
